I had a few people ask for the recipe. Its super simple, quick and easy. A kind of cheats way to make sausage rolls that little bit healthier.
My almost 2 year old loves them.
A great snack for busy adults also.
This recipe makes 14 but you can double or even triple it if you wish.
4 mini beef sausages (i use the woolworths macro mini brand). They are lower in fat and salt.
1 tablespoon of Super Food for Kids ‘Vital Veggie Powder’ (Available at most health food shops).
1 tablespoon of milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 sheet of puff pastry
Sprinkle the veggie powder in a light layer all over the puff pastry.
Gently squeeze the sausages to remove the meat and make a sausage without the casing on the first edge of the puff pastry.
Roll the pastry over to form a log. Cut the log free from the rest of the sheet of pastry, then slice to desired thickness.
Paint each morsel with milk, then sprinkle with the chia seeds.
Pop them on a baking sheet into a 180 Celcius Oven for around 30 mins or until golden brown.
